In May I will head back to the Cotwolds. This time instead of moving around from town to town I am renting a cottage and staying the entire time in one place. I realized on my last trip in 2008 that things are close enough that it is not worth the time and trouble to keep moving around. It turns out the cottage is much cheaper, too.
I wish I could find a place like this near Carmel to rent for the same price, but rentals there are just too expensive. Renting a car for two weeks (automatic with a/c) will cost the same as the two week car rental I did in Maine last September. The exchange rate is also a lot better than when I went four years ago. I just hope the weather is as good as that trip. We only had rain one day.
