Christmas Past and Present

I got to thinking about how my grandchildren had grown this Christmas. You can see from these pictures how much they have changed in the last seven years. Time marches on!

Christmas 2010

Faith is hanging on to her belief in Santa and made a trip to see him at the local mall.

Cheryl and David Tour the White House

David and Cheryl went on a special Christmas Tour of the White House early in December.
These collages are from that trip.

Longwood Gardens

I went to Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania with my friend, Linda, on Monday. We spent one night there as we wanted to stay late enough to see the lights in the dark. I had never been there at Christmas time before and it is just beautiful. I got a few of these pictures off the internet as my night shots did not come out too well.

Gettysburg Trip

Cheryl and I decided to make a one day trip up to Gettysburg to see the new visitor center and all the Fall foliage. The trees were at their peak for Fall color and the whole trip was just great.
We just wish we had more time to spend there!

To celebrate Fall I went on a day trip with my friends John and Linda over to West Virginia. The roads were beautiful going and coming and I got to see territory that I had never seen before.

Cheryl's House Blessing/Thank You Party

Cheryl and David had their party Sunday afternoon. Although it rained in the morning, the weather cleared and the temperature was perfect. Seneca Creek church had some wonderful ladies that organized and provided much of the delicious food. Other guests also brought food and we had a sumptious buffett with loads of food choices. Many of the leftovers were taken to a homeless shelter. Thank you everyone.

Shopping Trip to Virginia

Cheryl, Faith and I made the beautiful country drive over to one of our favorite shopping sites. The weather was hot and humid, but one of these stores is only open once a month so we decided it would be worth it. We made a few purchases, but mostly we just enjoy looking a all the electic options and wishing we had the money to buy them and a place to put them. It is always fun to dream!

Cheryl's House--nearing completion

They worked hard the last few days clearing out and putting away a lot of construction materials and items that had been in storage for over a year.

Cambria Trip - 2005

Since my brother, Neil, went to Cambria recently, it made me want to re-visit the pictures I took when I was there in 2005. This collage is just a sample. To view more, visit my photo website at:

Cheryl, David, and Faith Go To Florida

David had a business conference in Orlando and Cheryl and Faith went along for some vacation time. David managed to get a couple of days with them. They hit Disney World for the first time. I'll post those pictures later. I stayed home and took care of all the animals. I did my time at amusement parks when Cheryl and Jim were children.

Another Beautiful Garden

This garden is open to the public most of the year. At this time of year it is absolutely spectacular. The drive through the heart of horse and hound country is also beautiful.

Remember to double click on the picture to enlarge. I will be posting individual pictures on my shutterfly account soon.

Middleburg

What a wonderful tour this was. I went with my friend, Linda, and Cheryl. The weather was absolutely perfect and the homes were gorgeous. Pictures were not allowed in the homes, but we could take all we wanted in the gardens. The Virginia countryside in the heart of horse country is simply beautiful this time of year with all new Spring growth everywhere.

More pictures of Charleston on Shutterfly

I just added more pictures. I divided them into types to make it easier on viewers.
Shutterfly is the easiest way to view a lot of pictures. I like their slideshows.

Surgery Update

Well, I came home last Thursday. My recovery did not go as well as I had hoped. I had a lot of vertigo, visions, and generally felt lousy. I had to use a walker for about three days. I will get my staples removed from the incision tomorrow if things go as planned.

I still have a little unsteadiness and headaches. Don't know when I will be able to drive yet, either. With the storm I couldn't go anywhere if I wanted to, so it really hasn't been a problem. I didn't want to post a picture of my incision in case it grossed anyone out.

The Great Blizzard

Well, here is a picture I took Wednesday evening from the second floor of my condo looking out at my car. It has been sitting there since January 30th. I had my surgery on Feb. 1st and have been house bound since that time. I still can't drive, so it just sits and collects more snow.

MVD Surgery

Well, I gave up trying to deal with my hemifacial spasm and have decided to go ahead and have the surgery. If it works as it should, I will be spasm free and not have to get any more Botox shots (which never worked too well for me).
I will get the surgery on February 1st and should be home in 2-3 days and back to normal within 2-4 days according to the neurosurgeon.
